Seeds
I sit here with my eyes closed asking God to give me the words HE wants me to share...I have never been very good with the brain to mouth thing lol, luckily here there is a backspace button. As we sit together on day 19 of the year, it's hitting me even more that there's just special about January. It brings opportunity for new beginnings, to recenter ourselves. Obviously we can do that year round but you get it ... Last year I started baking sourdough bread and I have fallen in love with the whole process of mixing, nurturing, and watching it grow into its final product- healthy and nutritious. Really I think that's the goal for generally everything in life... friendships, relationships, businesses, self care... it starts from nothing and the more you tend to it, the more it flourishes. I want to flourish. I want you to flourish. I want us to help others flourish. So how do we do that? Step 1: plant seeds In Hosea 10:12 NLT it says "Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you." We all have an opportunity for a fresh start, to begin something new. The act of planting is just that, and act: to take action; to do something. It takes effort and initiation on our part. To reconcile takes action, to forgive takes action, to start over for the 20,749th time still takes action, to come out of your shell to make a new friend takes action, to share the gospel with someone takes action, to learn a new skill takes action, to give of your time takes action. Nothing comes from stagnancy, from bitterness, from self hate and selfishness. So let's plow up that hard ground this year, let's plant seeds of righteousness and faithfully wait on the Lord to water them. Love you guys!!
